Grandma's Attitude Problem
We didn’t have much
When I was a kid
We had a pot to pee in
But it didn’t have a lid
Grandma was bitsy
but she could crack wise
She told me "Girlie,
Look out for the guys.
Men will use women
Like bankers use money
And women need men
Like an undertaker needs funny."
I've temporarily lowered the high cultural tone of the blog in order to amuse G-Man and the Crew for Friday 55 Flash Fiction

P.S. My grandmother was really very nice, except when you got her riled. She was about 5 feet 3, but once chased my 6' tall drunk stepfather down the block with a cast iron skillet. You didn't mess with her, or with us kids.
Love the pot to pee in...I lived on a farm with an outhouse for two years...and in Minnesota winter's...this take me right back there..Fun Read...Go Grandma!!!...bkm
ReplyDeleteSeems a lot grandmas only had pots to pee in...but one without a lid? That's crazy!! ;)
ReplyDeleteI'm laughing - my Mother once chased my older brother with a rolling pin after he sassed her...(she's only 5' and even then that's probably an exaggeration)...you brought back a funny memory!
@bkm--outhouse in Minnesota does NOT sound like a happy time.
ReplyDelete@Talon: I think our relatives would have had a lot in common. It was really hilarious, Talon-- This little woman running down the street after a terrified full grown man, waving a frying pan and cussing in Swedish. Yes, the memories...;)
Ha...love the humour!Grandma sounds great.
ReplyDeleteYou are invited to join POW next Wednesday at my site .I'm choosing people with feisty grandmothers.Hope to see you there.
Cheers

Loved your 55 My Dear.
Thanks for playing today, and have a Kick Ass Week-End...G
A little fire is a good thing!
ReplyDeleteI almost missed this! What a hoot. Somehow, it reminds me of a song called "ladies Love Outlaws":
ReplyDeleteLadies love outlaws like babies love stray dogs,
Ladies touch outlaws like a banker touches gold; outlaws touch ladies deep down in their souls
(of course, not all those outlaws are male!)
HEE HEE! love it great take on the funny. Thanks.
ReplyDeleteThanks all.
ReplyDeleteG-man, your poetic instincts are sound, but Granny's been chasing back-talking angels around heaven for many a year now, I'm afraid --it's my husband you have to watch out for these days. ;)
I'm offline for a while, but I'll be back later to see what insane things everyone else has done with their 55's.
I really enjoyed this and all the comments too!
ReplyDeleteWhat a hoot!!
