Data Storage
I need a box for my brain
because I’m taking it out
and storing it.
I’m through with it
constantly
bossing me,
asking questions
but never
knowing the answers,
making me sad
for no reason,
happy for
reasons
I will later regret.
It’s better
out there
in the garage
in a box.

Really??? Maybe you just need more tv, that would dull it into submission.
ReplyDeleteRelatable, solid poem.
ReplyDeleteVery creative...My brain hums incessantly in the wee hours of the morning. I wish I can switch if off ~
ReplyDeleteNo dictionary needed- and no translation, either. I might recommend a sturdy box, 'cause it's gonna take a lot to contain that mind of yours :)
ReplyDeleteyou know you open the door for some pretty funny comments...though i would never say anything like, how long has it been out there already, see it is not like me to say something like that...or on how big the box might be...nope would not even joke about that...think the cardboard will muffle all the thoughts?
ReplyDeleteI can see it now...
ReplyDeleteYour Hubby decides to have a Garage Sale.
He puts your Brain Box out and marks it...
10 Dollars OBO!!!
(Does it, Or does it Not sell?)
Loved your 55 H...
Thanks for playing, and have a Kick Ass Week-End
I've kept mine in the garage for years, and no one has known the difference!
ReplyDeleteI love it.
ReplyDeleteI love this! Very creative and original.
ReplyDeleteFun poem, and I can certainly relate!
ReplyDeleteUse it or lose it! They're hell to put back in. You could always reprogram it with a bottle of scotch..........
ReplyDeleteIf only! Mind you, I've got used to keeping mine close by, for emergency 55's!
ReplyDeleteBrains aren't like computers. They have no "Sleep" preference.
ReplyDeleteBut sometimes they are . . they "Log Out" when you need them most!
Very enjoyable 55.
Loved this, hedgewitch, and can totally relate. There have been times when it would be absolutely lovely to de-brain :)
ReplyDeleteOh yeah! good idea! thanks-
ReplyDeleteYes, a life is a terrible thing to waste ... on a mind. Fuses blow, the circuitry's all wrong, the drain inexorable, and who knows just what is it that's deep in its center, behind the curtain, pulling all the switches. The great and terrible Hedge of Witch. Still, after the twisters and rages, curiosity returns. And more poems. External hard drives always, eventually fail, but inspiration's eternal. Keep the faith, sister. - B
ReplyDeleteyes - i need such a box as well...or just a plug to pull sometimes...ugh...fun write hedge - enjoyed this other voice
ReplyDeleteThanks all. I love that pic. And everyone's kind words. My husband's favorite insult for dumb people is "If he had a brain, he'd take it out and play with it." That's kind of where this came from.
ReplyDelete@B: 'Pay no attention to that witch behind the screen.' Just running through the spells, seeing what works.
Be nice once in a while if we could just unscrew our heads, take them off and leave them on a shelf someplace until we have had enough peace to want to put it back on again.
ReplyDeleteI like this read.
How I have wished to that often. I can totally relate...
ReplyDeletea mute question
One of the reasons I have started blogging!
ReplyDeleteI now brood on my blog.. In no time I get my answers. I know how to kill it when it tests my patience like it's doing now..
Weekend hugs xox
