The Transaction
When the clouds open their purse
to spill all April's coins,
the rain's too busy
buying life
to stop and haggle.
The trees join burly arms
in an uncouth peasant dance;
Day seems pleased to let the light
shortchange her, and green offers herself
at a bargain price.

Beautiful!
ReplyDeleteHa. Everyone lets their hair down--and is rich on the cheap. Very clever here, vivid, full of sensation and bright imagery like--well I see nickels or dimes rather than pennies from heaven as they feel silvery to me. I am too tired to comment very well, but this one is very sweet and very cleverly done. Good job. k.
ReplyDeleteI'd look for you between those boughs and dance, regardless of where you might be linked, H ~
ReplyDeleteAhhh, April pays the cost of Springtime! Loved it!
ReplyDeleteI think it may be a bit of relief not to link! K.
ReplyDeleteDefinitely. I may do a lot more of it before the month is over. ;_) Thanks, k.
